Crock Pot Lasagna Recipe
This is the best way to serve lasagna. Forget about firing up your oven and layering, layering then layering again. Don’t get me wrong, you will be putting the ingredients into the crock pot in layers, but it’s nothing like doing it into a glass dish. TIP: If you're not into beef, try turkey. If you're into spicy, try Italian turkey.
Crock Pot Lasagna Recipe Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
26 ounces spaghetti sauce
12 ounces cottage cheese
1/2 grated parmesan cheese
1 egg
12 ounces uncooked lasagna noodles
12 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
Crock Pot Lasagna Recipe Directions
Brown the ground beef and onion in skillet. Drain. Add the spaghetti sauce and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. In a separate bowl, combine the cottage cheese, parmesan, egg, and the mozzarella cheese except for 1/2 cup. Mix thoroughly.
Spoon a layer of meat sauce onto the bottom of the crock pot. Add two layers of uncooked lasagna noodles, breaking up the noodles as needed to fit. Top with a layer of the cheese mixture.
Repeat with sauce, noodles, and cheese mixture until all are used. Sprinkle top with reserved 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella. Cover; cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for approximately 3 hours. |
Lovely Lasagna from the Crock Pot
Mmm lasagna. One of my favorite dishes EVER! But the thing about it that I don’t like is the time it takes to make it. That’s why when I came across this recipe, I HAD to try it. And oh my, is it the best thing I've ever taken out of the crock pot. TIP: You don’t have to use Italian turkey sausage, you're favorite kind will do, I just love the spice of it.

1 1/2 pounds Italian Turkey Sausage
2 medium onions, chopped
1 large jar spaghetti sauce
2 tsp Italian seasoning mix
1/2 tsp oregano
1 tbsp minced onion
1/4 tsp thyme
15 oz container part-skim ricotta cheese
1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
12 uncooked lasagna noodles

Spray crock pot with non stick cooking spray. In large skillet, cook sausage and onion over medium heat until sausage is no longer pink. Drain. Add sauce and seasonings, mix well, reduce heat to low. In bowl, combine ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, and 2 cups of the mozzarella cheese.
Spoon 1/4 of the sausage mixture into the crock pot and top with noodles broken to fit. Top with half of the cheese mixture, then 1/4 of the sausage mixture and noodles. Make another layer of cheese, sausage, and noodles, then finish with remaining sausage mixture. Cover and cook on low 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese, cover and cook 15 minutes until cheese is melted.
