Crockpot Apple Pie Casserole

Ingredients:

Quantity
Ingredient
6
Apples (peeled, cored, and sliced)
1/2 cup
Brown sugar
1/2 cup
Granulated sugar
2 tsp
Cinnamon
1/4 tsp
Nutmeg
1/4 tsp
Salt
1/2 cup
All-purpose flour
1 cup
Old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup
Cold unsalted butter (cut into small pieces)

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix well to coat the apples evenly.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, and cold butter. Use a fork or pastry cutter to cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Grease the crockpot with butter or cooking spray. Place half of the apple mixture into the crockpot, spreading it out evenly.
  4. Sprinkle half of the crumb mixture over the apples.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining apples and crumb mixture.
  6. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  7. Once cooked, let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  8. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
